A motorcycle tour through Costa Rica in 15 days takes you on two wheels through one of the most diverse and fascinating landscapes in the world. You start in Orotina and ride along idyllic coastal roads, the winding mountains of the Quetzal National Park, and the volcanic areas around Irazu and Turrialba.
The route stretches from the Pacific coast to the Caribbean and gives you the opportunity to experience the cultural diversity and natural beauty of the country. Between rides, you can expect unique adventures such as exploring coffee plantations, a visit to the Jaguar Rescue Center, and excursions on hanging bridges and through the rainforest.
Relaxation is also taken care of: enjoy free days on the Nicoya Peninsula or unwind with a view of the majestic Arenal volcano. The combination of adventure, nature, and comfort makes this trip an unforgettable experience.

Daily program: Costa Rica: Coast to Coast Motorcycle Adventure
Day 1: Airport Transfer
Pick-up from San José airport or as arranged. Welcome to Costa Rica, the heart of Central America. You will be picked up at the airport and taken to our accommodation in Orotina. Here you can prepare your bags or suitcases for the tour.
Day 2: continue to the location in Limonal de Orotina.
After breakfast, we continue to the location in Limonal de Orotina. Here you will receive an introduction to the tour and get to know the group as well as your motorcycle. Once everything is prepared, we will start our first route. The route is pleasant and perfect for getting familiar with the motorcycle. We spend the night near Quepos on the Pacific beach.
Day 3: Beach walk and Quetzal National Park.
We take advantage of the sunrise at 5:30 AM for a relaxing beach walk. Our goal is Cerro de la Muerte, the highest motorcycle point in Costa Rica at 3,454 meters. It is noticeably cooler here; a good jacket is advisable. We spend the night in the mountains of Quetzal National Park.
Day 4: Coffee Tour
Early in the morning, we listen to the birds and set out to look for the Quetzal, one of the most famous birds in Costa Rica before breakfast. After that, we visit San Marco for a coffee tour and drive through the volcanoes Irazu and Turrialba. Our accommodation is Casa Tucan & Camping.
Day 5: on the Panamericana!
After breakfast, we head towards the Caribbean. The stages will be longer, and we will experience highway feelings on the Panamericana before switching back to winding roads. The Caribbean culture with Jamaican influences awaits us.
Day 6: Guided Tour at the Jaguar Rescue Center
After a breakfast by the sea, we visit the Jaguar Rescue Center. Afterwards, we enjoy a local lunch and explore the rivers of the region by kayak. The evening is free for personal activities.
Day 7: a long drive awaits us!
We set off on a longer ride from Puerto Viejo de Limon to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui. This route offers an impressive natural backdrop with rainforests, rivers, and stunning landscapes.

Day 8: From Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui to Arenal Lake and Arenal Volcano
Continue to Arenal Lake and Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna. Depending on the weather, we either visit the Mariposario or Frogs Heaven. In the evening, we experience a cocoa tour. Our accommodation offers a fantastic view of the volcano.
Day 9: La Fortuna and Rainforest
Today is reserved for relaxation. In the morning, we visit the hanging bridges of La Fortuna to see the rainforest from a different perspective. The rest of the day is free.
Day 10: Motorcycle Adventure Day
We ride along Arenal Lake on gravel roads and beaches to Santa Elena in Monteverde, where we will spend the night.
Day 11: from the Bridge la Amistad to Nicoya
After breakfast, we ride to the Nicoya Peninsula. There we will enjoy the beaches and impressive sunsets for two nights.
Day 12: Relaxation Day!
The day is reserved for relaxation. After a tour through the Werner Sauter Reserve, you can spend the rest of the day as you wish. Water activities are a good option. We are happy to assist you with reservations!
Day 13: South Coast of the Nicoya Peninsula
The roads along the south coast lead through picturesque coastal landscapes with white beaches and crystal clear water. This route invites you to enjoy nature away from the crowds.
Day 14: to Puntarenas!
We take the ferry from Paquera to Puntarenas. The crossing offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of Nicoya.
Day 15: Departure
On the last day, we will take you to the airport or to a place of your choice as arranged. Included are among others the German-speaking tour guide, airport transfers, the motorcycle, accommodations and many activities. Not included are flights, fuel or personal insurances, for example.
